Under the guise of poker night

Poker night. Every clique's got one. I'm assuming that, of course.

It's us guys' own version of male bonding. Our Million man march towards "losing money but its ok as long as I'm not home and hanging out with you guys" kinda feeling.

I've possibly won the big prize only twice ever since we started playing 3 months ago. But who cares right. Its something I always look forward to.

It was Saturday night, but since either one of us managers open Sunday, we recently moved it to a weekday (we never open and the earliest comes in at noon.) We chose Wednesday which is fine.

Today was kinda wierd, I was losing every single hand, but its hard not to ante up and call if you're just betting a nickel right? Wrong! I was down to my last 85 cents. I dug into my wallet and ended up breaking even for the whole night. I thought it was cool.

Anyway, I digress. The next poker night is New Year's eve at our friend's place. He decided to cook for us and celebrate New Year's at their place and play a few games too. But he was really pushing for me to go. Little did I know that he was gonna set me up with one of his wife's friends. Don't get me wrong, I think its cool. Its been a while, I'm on a long streak already so that got me thinking, why not?

So come New Year's eve, aside from losing money I'm hoping I'd be losing my heart too to someone I'll randomly meet.

Cross your fingers, say a prayer, this might end up sweet. But then again...

Nah, screw it.... I'm due....

Quest unfulfilled... yet

Has it been this long since my last post? How many days is it....

There were a few possiblities, a couple of maybes and one sure one, but all went down the proverbial toilet.

How did it come to this? No, its not despair. Its just longing for something that was familiar, you know?

Just saw Eternal sunshine. Great movie! My life in a nutshell. I, too, want that image erased, but in the end, would still long for the familiar. But unlike the movie, this one ends with goodbye.

Still searching....
