The holiday season is finally over...

I'll be meeting with my sister at my brother's for a belated Christmas gathering. We'll be watching movies and exchanging gifts. Unfortunately, Mom is working the whole week, so we're not celebrating the holidays with her. She'll be taking the whole week off next week, in preparation for my coming birthday... I know, don't get me started on it...

I spent Christmas day with my sister and watched a couple of movies... Lakeview Terrace was a good movie. Sam Jackson was great in it, although, I thought his character was just being your typical Sam Jackson character. The other movie we saw was Slumdog Millionaire. I gotta say, it was an impressive movie. My question is would you consider it a foreign movie because of its cast? Its possible to get a few nominations for the Oscars.. Danny Boyle did a good job in directing the movie. The cut scenes were the type I was considering for my screenplay... I guess, I need to get Danny to direct my movie...

I was supposed to go to my sister's today and watch a few movies plus the fight last week. I, instead, just slept the day away. The weather was ripe for some sleep. I truly love this kind of weather. I don't like the snow, but 40s is fine by me.

Anyway, I didn't sleep all day. I saw a couple of movies. I saw The Day the Earth stood still and Gran Torino today. TDTESS wasn't the kind of movie I was expecting. I thought it was gonna be like The Day After Tomorrow. But it wasn't. I didn't see the original, so I really have no basis for comparison. But I was expecting a lot more action out of it, but instead all I got was a message that people should change because Earth is dying. Oh well...

Gran Torino was a good movie. I can't think of any other actor that could play the role of Walt better than him. After watching the movie, I was surprised that it wasn't nominated for a Golden Globe. I think it was nominated for Original Song, which was strangely haunting to hear. It was played towards the end of the movie. Clint's raspy voice in the less than 2 minute version of the song was haunting, then Jamie Cullum's version filled the audio of the End Credits. The movie was good and should be well nominated in the Oscar's. Then again, I have still see the other movies that are being considered like Milk, Benjamin Buttons, Revolutionary Road, The Reader and Frost/Nixon.

I'll get to see Frost/Nixon and possibly Milk before the week ends...

Aside from the weather, I like this season.. it brings the best out in movies... my passion...

Finally... after almost a month of nothing... I'm back!!!

Believe me, this whole blogging thing is not a chore to me. I normally post after work, but then I get into a routine and all hell breaks lose and I forget to post.
Hopefully, that phase will end, and this will mark a new era of my blogging phase...

The Dark Knight comes out on Blu-Ray today. Maybe thats why I'm blogging today. I'm sure I'll be getting it, have to do it after work though. Don't want to get it and just let it sit in the car all day. That has to be one of the best movies I've seen, ever. Not because one of its stars died before the movie came out. The whole viewing experience was great. I still wanted to see the movie on IMAX.

Not much happening right now, I'll update this later...

I promise...
